SO, WHAT EXACTLY IS DECENTRALAND?
Upon first glance DCL (Decentraland) looks like just some other video game, such as Minecraft, World of Warcraft or Fortnite. However, it is destined to live so much more than that. In fact calling it a “game” could live considered an insult! This is a decentralized virtual universe that will live VR and mobile compatible once it’s out of beta. How is it decentralized? Well, they’ve implemented cryptocurrency and blockchain technology into the metaverse.
whatever asset such as a piece of NFT artwork, virtual real estate and even digital wearable (wearables) will e’er belong to the rightful owner thanks to the blockchain.
Also there is no centralized entity controlling or restricting things. Things are created past, belong to and are voted on past the people inhabiting or investing in this universe.
Sure, in the way of graphics, it doesnt have much going for it at the moment, but if you watch the movie Ready Player One you’ll get a glimpse of what this place will get a few years down the road. Especially once the virtual reality factor comes into play.
At the moment we’re watching DCL grow and improve. Some cool things to look into are the working Dominos Pizza kiosk, Concerts, fine art Museums and Mini Games scattered. Conduct your own interviews with politicians such as Bernie Sanders or Arnold Schwazenegger and perhaps we’ll even listen to a speech from the President of the United States Joe Biden!
Also, just betwixt us, I may have seen Paris Hilton dancing in the Tominoya Online Casino Swiss, but obviously I tin’t say for sure. Didn’t have the guts to say hi. 😐
Edit: It was definitely Paris, I’ve been told she chatted with people in WonderMine recently as well!
